Simmer Into Fall Recipe

Freshening up for Fall!

This time of year when Summer is ending and Fall is approaching is like the last day of vacation for me. You know, when you want it to last longer but at the same time you are ready to go home?! A little bittersweet. If anyone else feels this way and needs a little sensory delight, here is a recipe that won’t disappoint! This concoction mixes both seasons to make the transition from Summer into Fall a little sweeter!

SIMMER INTO FALL

The warm weather and summer fun will be missed but it’s time to get in those comfy sweaters, warm up by the fire and enjoy the changing colors that Fall brings. I find myself spending more time indoors as it gets colder out and I love having a great scent that mixes these two seasons.

This one I just cooked up with 5 ingredients I had on hand, threw in a pot with some water, and set the stove on a low simmer. Soon enough, my whole house smelled delightful.

Ingredients:

  • Orange peels
  • Lemon peels
  • Rosemary
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Nutmeg (grated)

Some other favorites to add:

  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Cloves
  • Apple peels

Just make sure to keep an eye on your simmer in case more water needs to be added.  Any other ingredients you love that are not on my list? Let me know!
