Summer is in full swing, and keeping up with four children in a new city, has been so much fun (and a little exhausting, of course :). I’ve been sharing daily on instagram stories and will try to be better about sharing updates here too. I’ve had a lot of questions on how we like Charleston so far, and the short answer is that we absolutely love it. We are getting pretty spoiled location-wise right now, with our rental being 5 minutes to the beach and Sullivans Island. I keep saying reality will set in once school starts and we are out of our rental, which I can’t believe is just around the corner!
Every Saturday, we drive to our new house that we our building to check on progress. It’s a semi-custom home, so we were able to choose a floor plan from the builder and select all the finishes from their options. It is so exciting to see everything start to come together! There are quite a few things we will add and change out later, but for now, we are just so happy to be here.
A little about the house..
It’s in a suburb of Charleston, a little larger than our last home in Chicago, but with a similar floor plan. We are gaining a few more bedrooms but losing a basement, which I’m a little nervous about. Our basement became a catch-all place for extra furniture and things, so this may be a good thing for us not to have!
I am most excited about all four of our children having their own bedroom. We loved our last home, but the bedrooms were small, and I dreamed the kids would have their own space someday. They are pretty excited about it too!
Here are a few pics from our visit last week ~
All their outfits are from Danrie. I recently collaborated with them, and it was so fun to do a mini photoshoot in our new home. I love this pic below, which sums up our excitement for this next chapter 🙂
The cabinets were installed this week, and the floors are supposed to go in soon too! I promised myself I would take my time decorating each room in this home and not rush anything. We’ll see if that changes 😉
Stay tuned! And Thank YOU for following along ~
