The laundry feels never ending with 4 little kids ~ I am SO glad we made a few changes in our laundry room that have made a big difference when it comes to tackling it!
The first, which I am the most excited about, was swapping out of washer and dryer. We had to replace our washing machine earlier this year and I was lost at what machine to buy. I always refer my interior design clients to Abt Electronics in Glenview, IL so I thought of them right away for a recommendation. They are always so knowledgeable and their customer service is outstanding.

For those local to Chicago, you have probably heard of Abt. And if you have bought from them, I am sure you would 100% agree they are great! Abt is a family owned business and always wonderful to work with. I’ve been recommending them for years and it was like a dream come true to partner with them for our laundry room updates π
I was thrilled that these navy blue GE Appliances were highly recommended by Abt and the features are unbeatable. I also love the navy blue color and the style is beautiful (which I never thought I’d say about appliances!)
Features I LOVE:
- The automatic soap dispenser. I almost never have to think about adding laundry detergent. I fill it once and it lasts for weeks.
- The one-step wash and dry cycle is so convenient for when I know I wonβt have time to switch the laundry. I use this often at night so my clothes are clean and dry by the morning. π
- GE also came up with a solution so the front load washing machine will NOT mold.
- They hold large loads of laundry (which was a must for me).
There is also Built-in WiFi so you can start and stop the laundry from anywhere!

Smart Dispense feature – lasts up to 32 loads and lets you know when it is time to refill the soap.

The ONE step wash and dry cycle is a life saver sometimes~
Ours is called the High-Efficiency Front Load Washer with UltraFresh Vent System in a beautiful, Sapphire Blue color. Here are the links to both the washer and dryer from Abt:

We also added pedestals too which I love for the extra storage. I also don’t have to bend over too much to do the laundry, plus the pedestals aesthetically give a higher end look in my opinion.

Right now, our pedestals house a lot of baby things that I need to access every day. The drawers are very deep and super convenient to access.

The other things that we updated were the floors and added hardware to the cabinets.
Adding hardware to cabinets is a very easy update that adds a little style to your cabinetry. It’s also not only functional, but also extends the life of your cabinet doors since there is less direct contact on the doors.
I updated the floors using this floor tile to complement the new washer and dryer. I love the colors and the pattern of the tiles. They were fairly easy to install and so far have held up great over the last 4+ months. I had planned to make more updates in here but put that on hold to focus on our living room design for the One Room Challenge. Now that it’s complete, I may make a few more changes so stay tuned!
A huge thank you to Abt Electronics for always steering me in the right direction when it comes to home appliances! Whenever we need a new appliance, you will always be my first call πππ Also, thank you to GE for helping sponsor this post and creating things that make every day a little easier ππΌ
Dare I say I am almost excited for another old appliance to need an upgrade?!

How nice and pretty are you with your home style and smile? Just Wow! Love all of your goods and style things.
You are too sweet, thank you!
