I’m Joining the One Room Challenge!

I signed up for the One Room Challenge this year!! It has been a goal of mine for years (since I started this blog) to participate so I’m especially excited.

The One Room Challenge (ORC) happens twice a year and is where designers transform a space in just 6 weeks. I joined as a Guest Participant and the challenge is sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens. I’ve heard many times how crazy busy and fun it is so I thought, why not join this year?!

We have been in our house for almost 4 years and I’ve wanted to update a few things in our living room since. This challenge is giving me the push to get. them. done.

I’m working with a local woodworker for some of the bigger projects and have a few good DIY’s too that I’ll share details on. I aim for a high end look for less with these DIY projects. Most of our budget is going towards our mantel & ceiling. {Things that our 4 little kiddos can’t ruin.} I HOPE! hah.

I’ll post details on a new project every Thursday until the end of June for the final reveal. You’ll get to see a lot of behind the scenes!

Details on the ceiling will be in next Thursday’s post. If you aren’t already subscribing to my blog, you can sign up on the sidebar so you get the posts in your inbox :). I always try to share sources and tips for each of my own home projects.

We have done a few things since we moved in 4 years ago ~ which you have noticed if you’ve been here for awhile. We painted the fireplace and walls right away but here is a throwback to what the room looked like:

And here is a sneak peek and some of the design projects we will be tackling ~

Plan for the ORC Living Room

My wish list grew quite a bit as I started planning everything out… It’s the domino effect!

Even if we don’t get to each piece on the design board above, it is nice to have a plan. I think we might be able to do it all though. I pitched the idea to Eric that a piece of this would be part of our wedding anniversary gift to each other – and he agreed! (Today we are celebrating 8 years of marriage 🙂 )

Thank you for following along, and wish me luck!!
