Dining Room Updates + a Giveaway

One of my favorite projects that I finished this summer was decorating the big blank white wall in our dining room. This room had been like an achilles heel for me over the years. I am finally happy with it after a few changes!

We painted the ceiling a purplish-gray (BM’s Pigeon Gray) earlier in the year, added a textured coastal style mirror & gallery wall with favorite floral prints found at the flea market years ago.

I also switched up the seating so we have a bench and 4 slipcovered chairs. The bench in the dining room is great if you have small children because so many of them can fit on it! This especially comes in handy when friends are over. I also added a Visual Comfort light fixture that was on my wish list forever.

Here are a few snaps I took of our dining room over the summer. I meant to share earlier but things have been quite busy! I’m starting to decorate for the holidays already this weekend and this room will be looking totally different, just for the season. I’m excited to share those changes in the next couple weeks for our annual holiday home tour post!

Lastly, I used Frame It Easy for the white gallery wall frames. It was my first time ordering from them and it was a very easy process to order, frame and hang them all. They were kind enough to offer my readers a giveaway of $100 towards any framing service. To enter, head to my instagram stories (@shiningondesign) and swipe on the heart slider page. It is that easy to enter!

The frames all come with hardware and you can customize the exact size you need. This was ideal for me because the floral prints were a specific size that I could not find unless I ordered custom.

Looking back at these photos is another reminder of how fast the kids are growing. This was just a few months ago and already so much has changed (mostly with Danny who doesn’t stay still for very long!). As I was taking them Taylor was practicing for her ballet recital (everywhere, including the dining room!) so don’t mind a few extra pics thrown into this post 🙂 They were too sweet not to include.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask as always! Thank you for reading and enjoy your weekend! ~
