Master Bedroom Refresh

Our bedroom had been long overdue for a refresh and I’m so excited to share the progress we’ve made this month ~

There are a few other projects in the works for this space but overall I am really happy about how it’s coming along. I partnered with Safavieh, one of my favorite brands for stylish and affordable home decor, on this refresh. As soon as I saw some of their new modern coastal style pieces, I was inspired to finally start designing our bedroom!

Safavieh is a To The Trade home furnishings brand based in the United States but you can purchase their products at places you are likely already shopping at. Target, Amazon, Home Depot to name a few ~

The rattan nightstands are my favorite addition to our master bedroom. They are actually chests so they are larger than most nightstands. I love the size because it makes them feel more luxurious. Plus they offer extra storage space with the 3 drawers. If you have the space, I highly recommend going with larger bedside tables for this reason. They are solid pieces (each one weighs over 60 pounds) and add a lot of texture and style.

The white table lamps are also from Safavieh and I loved those so much that I also ordered the matching floor lamp. Serena and Lily has a lamp almost identical to these but at a much higher price point. These are a great alternative if you like that style too 🙂

Ok I lied, the rug actually might be my favorite part. I loved this blue and white rug when I saw the picture online but LOVE it even more in person. I always go with a 9×12 rug for under our king size bed BUT the largest available size for this style was an 8×10. I gave it a try and it actually works better than I thought. The diamond pattern is beautiful and it is very cozy in person. Home decor tip: If you have carpet, like us, layering a rug is a good idea to anchor the space and add visual interest with color & pattern.

We are in the process of selecting new bedding so don’t look too closely at that ha! I finally had some time to photograph this room while trying to keep Danny occupied and “made” the bed way too quickly lol. Here’s a pic of this cutie who is officially 18 months old already!

Anyway new bedding is coming soon, I hope! I love our temperature-regulating Buffy comforter but hoping to find something a little heavier to layer. I haven’t decided on exactly what yet but I will definitely be sticking with white. White bedding feels like a five star hotel to me which I love.

Eric’s favorite new thing is the antler chandelier. He wasn’t thrilled about me taking down the last ceiling fan in the house so I’m especially happy that he likes how it turned out!

For reference, our bedroom is approximately 16’x16′ and the light fixture is 30″. I usually lean towards large statement fixtures (which you may know if you’ve been following along for awhile!) but I do like how this size works here. It is not too large, or too small. It’s also a fantastic price right now (60% off) if anyone is looking for a new light update!

Overall my goal for our bedroom was a calm and serene space so all white light fixtures worked out beautifully. Our woodworker just came over this afternoon to finalize measurements for the next project and wallpaper has been ordered. Stay tuned for a couple more updates soon!!

Have a wonderful weekend all ~
