When I first heard about In the 6, a gift box created by Meredith Beebe, I was beyond excited. The inspiration behind this idea is to support local businesses. Meredith has seen firsthand how small business shop owners invest in their community and the importance of giving back.

Meredith was kind enough to invite me and my sister-in-law (of Cedar & Rush) out for a day to visit some of the shops that participate in the gift box. I’m sharing some fun pictures and a sneak peak of what you can expect in this fabulous gift box!

Our first stop was BB Interiors – a retail boutique and interior design firm. There are so many unique gift finds here! I happen to have written an entire blog post on this shop but keep scrolling down then come back up to check out it out here.

Next up, Graham’s Chocolate!

Graham’s is well known in Geneva for their ice cream and delicious chocolate treats. My husbands favorite! Somehow all the other chocolates disappeared before I had a chance to take this picture…

Odalisque – a beauty apothecary was our next stop and Bridget, the owner, is just delightful. She gave me a mini makeover on our visit and some great tips that I can do at home. The gifts in my box included a Haute Cocoa lipgloss that I am obsessed with.

Extra perk: all purchases from Odalisque come nicely wrapped in burlap bags with a signature gold charm. Gift wrapping ✓

Moveable Feast & Co

The pictures here alone will give you an idea of how delicious this cafe and catering company is. The brownies were even on Oprah’s list of favorite things!

Kernals – Popcorn options from Movie, Cheddar to a hot Fire flavor. The popcorn is made fresh daily and any left overs go to local food pantries.

Tin boxes to support your favorite teams are available too – Go Hawkeyes!

The Spice House – Best spices in town. We loved having this shop nearby when we lived in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago. Now that we are in Geneva, we are lucky enough to have their other location just a couple blocks away!

The Olive Mill – Every flavor of olive oil you can think of! And they are delicious. Especially the chili pepper which I have been cooking with everyday lately.

Floral Wonders – Voted best florist in the tri-city area. Owner, Eva Kamieniak’s, love for design really shows in all the gorgeous arrangements at Floral Wonders.

FreshGround Coffee – Delicious coffee and a unique experience if you get a chance to visit. This isn’t a cafe but you can see firsthand how the coffee beans are roasted and ready to brew. Their online shop sells some unique gifts for the coffee lover in your life.
