A Busy Week!

I’m catching up on all the things this week, and happy to share progress on our One Room Challenge room makeover ~

We have crown molding!

We had the crown molding installed last Friday, right before Harper’s birthday party. It was quite a process to find someone to help install this, and thankfully we found someone that knocked it out of the park.

The gold trim is absolutely beautiful and I am so happy that we didn’t skip this design detail. It even came primed, so we only need to do a few touch-ups, which makes it easy.

Here is the link to the crown molding we used from Ornamental Molding, and I will share close-up details after the paint is touched up, tomorrow!

We are also having the ceiling painted tomorrow which I am SO excited about. I want a high gloss look without the expense of lacquer. So our painters are getting creative and trying something new. So stay tuned to see how that goes!

I ordered paint samples from Samplize for the first time and absolutely love how easy they make it to narrow down paint colors. Their samples are peel-and-stick, and you can remove and relocate them throughout the room. It’s always a good idea to see how the light hits the same shade in different areas of the room. Here are a few shades that we narrowed it down to.

Farrow & Ball Parma Gray (second from the left) was the the overall favorite 🙂

PS. if anyone is looking for sofa cushion covers, I have ordered these cushion covers from Amazon for two of our sofas and two chairs already. They fit nicely and are not an eyesore. Above is the Natural color but I also like the Ivory for our neutral upholstery. These are great for if you have kids and/or pets.

We have made so much progress already but here’s a few things that I have planned before the final reveal in two weeks!

Custom Pillows

We had the best time hosting Harper’s unicorn party, and squeezed in a little photo shoot with the unicorns at the end in the sunroom for fun. Harper’s smile through the window – Pure magic!
